Heli Tourism to be launched in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh

Krishna district administration is all set to launch heli tourism in an effort to boost tourism sector of the region. The prime reason to initiate this venture is to put away visitors time during travelling. The region consists of major attractions like Kanaka Durga temple, Bhavani Island, Gandhi Hill and Manginapudi. Some private agencies have also been included in the project, with the attractive packages for heli tours starting from an attractive Rs 3,000.

The number of tourists has considerably increased in the state after state-bifurcation. The district administration had already started works for converting major attractions into prime tourist spots. They expect that the introduction of heli tourism will further enhance the tourism sector of the region. “Helipads would be created in the mandal areas too to increase tourist footfall. We want to encourage tourism in our district and develop locations across the district. Even the Dussehra festivities would be marked with much enthusiasm this time to attract more tourists. We are developing and will promote Manginapudi beach, Sagara Sangamam, Nagara Vanam and Ghantasala,” said District Collector B Lakshmikantham.

Heli tourism was launched in Visakhapatnam in December 2017. However, it was put to an end after two weeks of trial run. Pilgrims who visited Vijayawada for Krishna Pushkaralu were offered a city tour before by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism and Krishna district administration. The 20-minute ride operated by Pawan Hans Ltd was charged Rs 2,000 per person.
