‘Macao Street’ to attract tourists from Korea
Macao Government Tourism Office has started its yearly tourism campaign, ‘Macao Street’, in South Korea. The tourism promotion project to a large extent focuses on exhibiting Macao’s heritage, local cuisine and cultural events, that magnets Korean tourists.
The programme is co-ordinated by Chairman of the Korea Association of Travel Agents (KATA)- Yang Moo Seung. MGTO representative in Korea- Lew Chi Young, General Manager of Air Macau Seoul Office – Kim Hee Cheol.
“This year, our efforts to display the very best and the newest highlights of our city in a promotion tailor-made to the Korean audience has brought us to this ultra-modern cinema complex at the heart of Seoul. Here at CGV Yeouido, entertainment meets gastronomy, cinema, shopping and more, offering us an ideal backdrop to set up this lively and festive Macao Street,” said Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, MGTO Director.
Korea is an important market for Macao, as the tourist arrivals are dramatically increasing yearly. For the last couple of years, it marked double-digit growths, increasing by 19.5 per cent to 662 thousand visitors in 2016 and growing 32 per cent to 874 thousand visitors in 2017.
Also, regular flight from the two countries are conducted by air carriers namely Air Macau, Jin Air, Jeju Air, T’way Air and Air Busan.
