UNWTO calls for videos as part of Smart Destinations Conference
The II UNWTO World Conference on Smart Destinations, promoted by the UNWTO together with the Kingdom of Spain and the Government of the Principality of Asturias, call for creative videos from entrepreneurs and companies in line with the themes of innovation, technology and sustainability in tourism. The last date for the submission is April 30, 2018.
The Conference will serve as a forum to debate academically research work on future tourism models, based on Innovation and Technology, which allow Accessibility and Sustainable Development of tourism and the territories in the 21st century.
“The Conference recognizes the key role of entrepreneurs and startups as generators of tourism innovation. Therefore, the Conference has reserved a specific space so that both, entrepreneurs and companies, can present their most disruptive products and services,” said UNWTO in statement.
In elevator pitch format, and for 15 minutes, the selected companies will be able to make a commercial presentation (in Spanish or English) in front of an audience formed by destination managers, tourist corporations, big technology companies, investors and, in general, the most leading companies in digital transformation.
“Those companies interested in participating must have a product or services framed in the thematic lines of the Conference and surpass the anonymous evaluation to be carried out by the Committee of Experts. Proposals must be submitted in video format (5-7 minutes; in Spanish or English) and contain the following information: The proposals presented will be evaluated for their innovative character, their competitiveness and their interest for the tourism sector. Since we are in a sector of great creativity, we will also value the creativity of the videos received,” said the statement.
The submission closes on April 30th, 2018 and is accepted till May 10th, 2018. The selected papers will be presented at the Conference on Monday, June 25th, between 4:30 pm and 6:45 pm.
