Now, you can re-download deleted files from WhatsApp
It was a happy news for the popular messaging service WhatsApp, as the beta update of the app for Android users has been introduced with two new features.
The new options enhances the ability to transfer money from other Unified Payment Interface (UPI), followed by an option to recover deleted downloaded media files.
Meanwhile, there were various allegations faced by the company on the aspect of UPI payment security guidelines. The current payment option is available only on a beta version 2.18.113, for selected users. The system works through a virtual payment address (VPA) for payments through UPI protocols.
“WhatsApp would have to make its payments feature fully interoperable in order to continue being part of the UPI ecosystem,” said National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) under UPI in a statement.
Also, the new recover downloaded media files has certain drawbacks, as it is restricted to certain media files. The new feature is activated through files being saved on WhatsApp server rather than a user’s device.
The missing files can be recovered by clicking on the blurred missing media. But the new feature has certain drawbacks, as it may sometimes fail to execute the task. However, it is not sure whether the company has any future plans to roll out the latest updates to regular users.
