Dubai’s first international conference on Medical Tourism

Dubai, the largest and populous city of the United Arab Emirates, is all set to conduct its first international conference in Medical Tourism on 20 February 2018 at Madinat Jumeirah. The theme adopted for the conference is ‘Reimagining Experience’. Speakers of the event would be eminent personalities in the field of health and travel sector from various parts of the country.

Various aspects related in the field of health such as new techniques, insurance schemes, qualified professionals, quality education etc will be discussed at the event. The convention consists of several exhibitions as well as conferences represented by experienced panel in the field of health, that focus on quality health care services from a global perspective. Some of the topics that are covered in the forum include- technology innovation on health, artificial intelligence, and role of social media in health.

“With the vision of our global leaders DHA started developing robust ideas regarding medical tourism sector in Dubai. In 2016, Dubai received 326,649 international medical tourists with an overall growth of 9-10 per cent increase,” said Humaid Al Quatami, Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Chairman.

Over 1 billion Dh was generated from international patients, that reflected in the progress of national GDP. Dubai’s exotic locations and high-quality professionals have built a strong foundation to the sector in the previous years.

“Now we have made it very easy to get health visa for medical tourists who can obtain this visa in just 48 hours and it can be renewed easily upon presenting your medical report for another three months. This can be done both for the patient as well as his or her accompanying relative. Dubai’s efforts are aimed at easing the entire patient journey,” said Dr. Layla Al Marzouqi, Director of Health Tourism Council.
