Kerala bets big on Eco-tourism
Kerala tourism to put forward new techniques to market eco-tourism spots leveraging information and communication technology (ICT) tools including micro websites and promotional videos. The government has approved Rs 1.95 crores for the project proposal led by Invis Multimedia, Kerala state Tourism Department’s official web developers.
As the importance of visual marketing is growing rapidly, the website will post 15 new promotional films on eco-adventure, and e-brochures followed by a new format of centralised online booking system for preferred eco-tourism destinations.
“Several ecotourism centres have own websites and the activities there are also being promoted by both tourism and forest departments. But so far there has been no centralized approach or efforts to such a big extent for campaigning and spreading awareness among both domestic and international travellers,” said Pramod PP, Director, Eco-Tourism.
“With a wide marketing perspective combined with a conservation strategy, Kerala has a great possibility to promote its eco-tourism destinations,” he added.
Promo videos on the list includes
- Muthanga jeep safari
- Silent Valley
- Parambikulam
- Periyar
- Munnar
- Gavi
- Thenmala
- Agasthyamala
Promotional videos thus are the most cost-effective tool that could boost the destination with a new angle through major social media platforms.
